Cancelled.  Very reluctantly…, I have decided to cancel this cruise, the main reason being that, as much as I would dearly love to get back to O’Neal’s Sportsbar & Grill at Bayland, there to a have a frosty cold beer and a tasty burger while watching the sun go down behind the Hartman Bridge, but due to the recent significant increase in cases of Covid-19 in our part of the world I just cannot risk doing this sort of thing at this point in time!

There are slips available for anyone who still wishes to cruise to Bayland and perhaps see arriving Texas Outlaw Challenge boats, and you can contact the marina for one of these slips at 281-422-8900. Predicted tide levels for the typical late-morning arrival and departure times are unfortunately towards the low end of the scale, although with all of the elevated water levels that we have had recently this might not be a problem. I was told today by the marina management that the long anticipated entrance channel and harbor dredging have been approved, and that the work might possibly start as early as August. And so that’s the good news! But we’ll see……

Sorry to have to cancel this event, but as an old guy I’ve got to consider the possible personal consequences of not doing so!
