Registration

So as of Monday afternoon (3/15) it appears that the “Easter Cruise” that had recently been planned for Job Beason Marina at Double Bayou has now moved back to Moody Gardens, this the location of past TMCA Easter cruises for many years.

The 3 or 4 members who had signed up for Beason immediately got moved over to the Moody reservation list, but two of them (including myself) are not going to Moody and are still planning on going to Double Bayou! And you can too!!!

On Monday I posted on TMCA Facebook a write-up, and lots of photos, (re: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TMCAgroup/permalink/3602526479857956/ ) about the wonderful Easter celebration right there in Job Beason Park that the local folks in Oak Island put on every year. It was cancelled in 2020, but it is back on again, and definitely worth a trip to Double Bayou! Please take a look at this post to see what it is all about,

So if you are interested in participating in this “Alternate Easter Cruise”, please sign up on the website right away as there is only a limited amount of time for getting our necessary boat information submitted to the folks in Chambers County. Houston Yacht Club also has boats participating, and we will be sharing the marina, and sharing in all of the local fun also, and so I hope that you will join in!

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES!

Chambers County now requires boaters using Job Beason Marina to sign a release of liability form. They actually call it a “Boat Slip Agreement”, and it has things in it that have nothing to do with liability! I shall resist from offering any more comments on this, but it does have to be signed and submitted to them a minimum of 7 days prior to our arrival (which would mean no later than 3/26). Here is the link to the document:

https://www.co.chambers.tx.us/upload/page/0050/docs/Boat%20Slip%20Agreement.pdf  , and note that it also requires that you submit a copy of your drivers license! Please print it out, sign it, and email it to me no later than 3/25, and I will forward all of them together.

The other new thing that they are demanding is a copy of each boat’s Liability Insurance. Some other marinas that we cruise to ask for this also, but this is the first time that the county has asked for it. So please print that out also and submit it to me with your signed “Boat Slip Agreement”.

Do NOT fail to submit these three items as they could make you leave the marina!!!

You are pre-paying your slip fee ($25/night) through our TMCA website, and TMCA will then send a check to Chambers County, and we will be mailing that on Wednesday, 3/24. And so registration for this cruise has to end on that date!!! This is all WAY more difficult than it used to be, but it is what it is, and we do have to live with it!

If you have questions, please contact me.
