It is just a simple cruise up to Bayland, and other than having a lazy afternoon there after we arrive (perhaps with naps), you are on your own until dinnertime. For those who have not been to Bayland in awhile, there is now a brand new Hyatt Regency hotel on the property, and you can certainly go check that out. The Regency has the Anchor & Hearth Woodfired Kitchen, Bayland Lounge and a 24 hour Market. Otherwise just have a laid-back afternoon!

But for dinner the plan will be to head up to O’Neal’s Sportsbar & Grill (https://www.facebook.com/onealssportsbarandgrill ) where the beer is always cold, the food is always pretty good, and the view of passing ships in the HSC, and especially of the Fred Hartman Bridge, cannot be beat, especially at sunset! O’Neals frequently has live music there, and hopefully we will be there on a night in which they do!

TMCA has a very long history of cruising to Bayland, and that is ever since it first opened in the mid-90s! It is a fine weekend destination due to its relatively short (10.5nm) distance from Clear Lake, and with its great docks, plenty of electric plug-ins, clean restrooms, and a ship’s store, it is well worth cruising to! The long-awaited dredging of the entrance channel took place a couple of years ago and looking at the tide predictions for the weekend no one should have any access problems.

My “Navigation to Bayland Marina” destinations file, which includes waypoints and other important information is available here: https://www.texasmariners.com/resources/Documents/Destinations/BaylandMarinaNavigation.pdf

Slip fees at Bayland are $1.50/ft per night, payable at the ship’s store.

Registration for this cruise is already open on the TMCA website and I am hoping for a nice turnout for a fun cruise to Bayland Marina!
